Kundurti Anjaneyulu B.A. (Telugu: కుందుర్తి ఆంజనేయులు) (December 16, 1922 – 1982) was a Telugu poet. He was winner of Sahitya Akademi Award. He is also known as “Vachana Kavitha Pitamahudu” (Father of prose poetry).[1]

His publication of Yuge Yuge heralded the arrival of a real progressive poetry on the literary scene.[2] He made it a mission of his life to promote ' free verse' as the medium of modern poet. He started Free Verse Front in 1958. Most poets today choose this medium.

He was born in Kotavaripalem, in Guntur District. Gurram Joshua was his Telugu teacher during his primary education. He studied in Municipal High School, Vijayawada. He was a student of Viswanadha Satyanarayana at S.R.R. College, Vijayawada. He was graduated (B.A.) from Andhra Christian College, Guntur.

He asked writers to come out of the language of poetry. He argued that the style and language of literary work should be understood by the common man.

Free Verse Trust

Free Verse Front was founded by him and has been giving prizes since 1967. Free Verse Front Prize Trust was founded on 31 July 1979 in Hyderabad.[3]
